After high
school I joined the Navy and served during the first Gulf War
aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. I attended some college, then
found a job working in the warehouse for the company that my
technology driven brother worked for. He was the Director of
Information Services at that point.
The
configuration center for all of the desktops and laptops our
company sold was in the warehouse. When things were real busy, I
would lend a hand configuring systems. Turns out, all the years
of my brother subconsciously drilling technology into my head
was a good thing because I turned out to be a pretty good
technician myself.
I decided to
focus my career on desktop support. Why? Because there are
enough problems with the individual desktop to keep me busy for
the next 30+ years. I am a certified tech / admin with Dell,
IBM, Compaq, Gateway, along with a few others. After eight years
with the same company I am now the Director for Desktop Support
Services. I enjoy what I do and recently have been concentrating
on the entire home network.
